da stake casino: Newcastle United have now reportedly made contact to sign a former Barcelona youngster, who could step in for the injured Tino Livramento.

Newcastle confirm Livramento blow

da premier bet: As if the task of defeating Manchester City wasn’t hard enough, Newcastle were forced to attempt it without Livramento last night and were made to pay as a result – losing 2-0.

Things are unlikely to get any easier anytime soon, either. The versatile full-back is also likely to miss the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at the Etihad at the start of next month as he prepares to spend around eight weeks on the sidelines.

Livramento’s latest injury could see him miss as many as eight games in all competitions in what is a major blow for the Magpies. With the January transfer window open, however, they have the perfect opportunity to solve one of their most frustrating problems.

On that front though, it’s not just a right-back that Newcastle did. Those at St James’ Park still have unfinished business from the summer and could certainly do with a central defender.

Names like Tiago Gabriel have already been mentioned, but it remains to be seen whether Newcastle decide to push on and secure a move this month or wait until the summer transfer window.

Having his say on potential January business, Eddie Howe recently told reporters: “The key thing for us to consider is business now versus business in the summer, value for money now versus value for money in the summer and signing the right player. Because if you sign the wrong player, you’re carrying that then for a three, four, five-year contract.”

Newcastle make contact to sign Mingueza

Perhaps the “right player” is Oscar Mingueza. According to AS in Spain, Newcastle have now made contact to sign Mingueza, launching an approach in an attempt to secure a replacement for Livramento.

The former La Masia academy talent has attracted plenty of interest thanks to his consistency at Celta Vigo, including from West Ham United, Juventus and Liverpool, but it’s Newcastle who arguably need his services the most.

The deal wouldn’t break the bank, either. Mingueza reportedly has a release clause worth just €20m (£17m) and will be available as a free agent when his current contract expires in the summer. It is the perfect opportunity for those at St James’ Park to make their move.

As the numbers show, Mingueza is about as close as Newcastle would be able to get to Livramento without breaking the bank this month or in the summer.

There’s also been plenty of interest in the young England international in the past, which should make signing a long-term replacement in Mingueza a top priority.
